Complimentary Clothing Policy and Procedures
Submitted by Don Peters May 22, 2003.
The following policies and procedures have been approved by the board of directors at the May, 2003, board meeting. These policies and procedures are proposed to standardize and simplify the administration of member clothing benefits. These policies become effective as of October 1st, 2003.
National Record Holders
Club members in good standing and racing as a club member and wearing the current club clothing when setting a national record are entitled to the following clothing benefits:
During the year in which the record is set, the member is entitled to a complimentary club jersey and shorts/bib shorts or a skin suit. During the following year, if the individual is a registered member of the club, and the member did NOT receive a complimentary clothing benefit the previous year, then the member is entitled to a complimentary club jersey and shorts/bib shorts or a skin suit. i.e. The record holder is entitled to ONE complimentary clothing benefit either during the year in which the record or championship is accomplished or the following year if still a club member. If the benefit is not claimed during the accomplishment year, or the following year, then the benefit is forfeited and cannot be claimed.
National Champions
Club members in good standing and racing as a club member and wearing the current club clothing when winning a national championship are entitled to the following clothing benefits:
The clothing benefits and restrictions are identical to the Record Holder benefits detailed above.
State Champions (Any US state or Canadian province qualifies)
Club members in good standing, racing as a club member and wearing the current club clothing when winning a state or provincial championship are entitled to the following clothing benefits:
During the year in which the championship is accomplished, the member is entitled to a complimentary club jersey only. During the following year, if the individual is a registered member of the club, and the member did NOT receive a complimentary clothing benefit the previous year, then the member is entitled to a complimentary club jersey only. i.e. The champion is entitled to ONE complimentary jersey either during the year in which the record is set or the following year if still a club member. If the benefit is not claimed during the record setting year or the year after, then the benefit is forfeited and cannot be claimed.
Multiple Awards
If a member is a multiple champion and/or record holder during one calendar year, the member in entitled to only ONE clothing benefit during a calendar year but can claim one clothing benefit during the award year and one clothing benefit the following year. Benefits cannot be accumulated.
Replacement Clothing
Club members are entitled to the following clothing benefits if club clothing is damaged beyond reasonable repair during a race. The member must be a registered club member, racing as a Cyclo-Vet during the event.
This clothing replacement benefit applies only to club jerseys, shorts/bib shorts or skin suits damaged during a USCF sanctioned, permitted, race. This benefit does not replace clothing damaged during training rides or other events. The club member must request replacement clothing from the “Uniforms and Equipment” Committee chair. This individual must approve the replacement before clothing is picked up. The clothing replacement benefit must be requested within two months following the race in which the clothing was damaged otherwise the benefit is lost.
If the above conditions are met, the club will replace a club jersey, shorts/bib shorts or skin suit, whichever clothing articles have been damaged. A member is only eligible for one replacement benefit or incident during a calendar year. |
