Membership Year and Fees: Membership in the San Diego Cyclo-Vets runs January 1 through December 31 (beginning in 2009). Electronic memberships are currently unavailable but in the works. You may send your application electronically or via USPS to the membership chair Mike Satterlee, mjsatterlee [@] hughes [dot] net but please pay your membership by check.

Individual Membership-- in the San Diego Cyclo-Vets costs $45 per year.

Family Membership-- Individual membership starts at $45 per year. Second and Subsequent Family Members at $15. Family Members are defined as a husband and wife, parent(s) and children, parent(s) and grandchildren but not brothers/sisters. The Membership Coordinator makes the decision with regard to the eligibility for cases that differ from the above. The Applicant can appeal the decision to the Cyclo-Vet President whose decision will be final. Each family member receives the same benefits as individual members except:
1. The family is eligible for only one distributed MasterLink.
2. The family receives only one membership to San Diego County Bicycle Coalition.

Honorary Membership:

Membership is free to those who meet the following criteria:

1. Past or present gold medalist in the USCF national championships
2. Past or present USCF national records holder.
3. Gold medalist in the USCF state championships.
4. Placed 2-5 in USCF National Championship for the immediately preceding year.
5. Placed 2-3 in USCF State Championships for the immediately preceding year.

Members must be current members and have Cyclo-Vets as their designated club on their USCF license and must wear the current Cyclo-Vets jersey at all racing events in which they participate, unless eligible to wear a current championship jersey. A signed club membership application is required to activate honorary membership. Just write in "free" in the payment section of your membership application.

Why provide honorary membership?

State Champions earn the right to wear a state championship jersey, but must buy one. The Board decided to pay for the state championship jersey of any club member who earned the right to wear one and give such riders a free club membership. As National Champions and US Record Holders were thought to have achieved at least as much, they were added to the policy. As the club's general race reimbursement policy is based on participation rather than competitive results, the Board felt honorary membership was one of the few ways to award and recognize Championship racing achievement.
