Cyclo-Vets at the UCI Masters World Championship

Four Cyclo-Vets members participated on the 2008 St. Johan Radweltpokal and UCI World Championships in St. Johan Austria from August 24th to August 30th, 2008:
        Gary DeVoss 62+
        Butch Richardson 65+
        Nigel Gliberry 50+
        Jacobo Melcer 65+

Gary DeVoss and Jacobo Melcer did the Radweltpokal road race and the UCI World Championship road race in their respective categories.

Butch Richardson did the UCI TT and UCI World Championship road race.

Nigel Gliberry did the UCI TT.

All four had a remarkable performance in their respective races, with an outstanding 4th place for Butch Richardson in the 65+ World Championship TT.

The results for each rider were:

Gary DeVoss
        Radweltpokal - 76Km, 33rd place arriving with the main field.
        UCI World Championship RR - 76Km, 32nd place, arriving with the main field.

Butch Richardson
        UCI TT World Championship - 20Km, 4th place with a time of 28:32.39
        UCI World Championship RR - 40Km, He had a flat with 5Km to the finish, rolling with the main field.

Nigel Gliberry
        UCI TT World Championship - 20Km, 55th place with a time of 30:48.89

Jacobo Melcer
        Radweltpokal - 40Km, 48th place arriving with the main field.
        UCI World Championship RR - 40Km, 48th place, arriving with the main field.

The four gladiators are looking forward for the 2009 edition of this event and encourage all Cyclo-Vets racers to plan to participate in this world class event in one of the most beautiful places of the European Alps. The organization of the event is world class and the environment and sportsmanship is very enjoyable.
