Saturday Ride Description From Jacobo Melcer:
Starting from 3901 Bonita Rd (bike shop) for a warm up for around 15 - 20 min going west on the bike path next to the Sweetwater channel on route 54 all the way to 'Gordy Shields' bridge. Continuing south on the bike path/route towards Chula Vista to Main Street making a left turn to city streets until we get to Olympic Parkway to continue at a 20 mph pace line with a couple of short hills regrouping at the Otay Lakes Reservoir. Then we continue on Otay Lakes Road (25 m/h Pace line) to end with a sprint at Hwy 94.
We make a 'U' turn to go west on Otay Lakes Rd. to Pio-Pico Campground for a regrouping and quick lunch.
We continue back on Otay Lakes Rd. to Olympic Parkway where we have a couple rolling hills and fast (25+ mph) pace line for about 6-7 miles with a sprint before we get to Brandywine making a right turn for a half-mile 5% climb to the top.
From there we roll back to Bonita easy pace.
Total of 52 miles and a 3 hour ride.
